Frivolous Friday
Now that I'm all grown up and semi-retired I refuse to let guilt get in the way of taking advantage of a wet, cold and miserable day. This is what I did on this very frivolous Friday and it's the most creative full day I've ever had.
Well, I did do the ironing before I made a start, just because there was a little bit of guilt creeping in.
Do you ever get a full day to play?
I absolutely love these Chris!! So cheerful and colorful! I rarely take a whole day off---I have promised myself I would do this within the next couple of weeks before I have to go back teaching. Bravo to you for taking some personal time--it really paid off!
ReplyDeleteTks for visiting Debbie, I hope you do get some 'you' time before you settle back into teaching again.
DeleteYour cards and artwork are beautiful! So true that we should not the weather influence our feelings! (Yet we do most of the time...but not you!) love, andrea
ReplyDeleteWinter can get so depressing Andrea, but as you can see I try not to let it get too much of a hold on me.
DeleteThese are so 'happy' I love them - especially the second one, makes me want to hop a flight down to the islands (suppose that's 'up' for you) :)
ReplyDeleteTks AT, funny that you like the second one I did struggle with that one the most.
DeleteYour artwork is just beautiful! I love the uplifting messages and the bright colors! Hope your weather starts to improve, it's spring there now isn't it? Your cards bring the sunshine with them! Thanks for sharing them!
ReplyDeleteNot quite spring yet Diane but hopefully not too far off.
DeleteYou've inspired me to try and take a whole day off. :o)
ReplyDeleteGlad to be of help Cheryl, I'm sure Bandit will want to share all of that day off with you!!
DeleteChris, these are amazing. Makes me think about putting my days off to better use 1
ReplyDeleteJen
Tks for the visit Jen, I like your blog and glad your back into the swing of things.
DeleteI agree Chris, better to not even try a recipe with too many ingredients that you have to spend money on. And the more I go to the grocery store, the more I spend. I need to get back to when my kids were little and I only went once a week, and if I'm out of something, it just has to wait. love, andrea
ReplyDeleteAndrea, in an extreme effort to save money my husband does the big grocery shop on a Saturday and he only buys what's on the 'list'. Seems to work buy my pantry is on the sparse side. I only go near a supermarket in emergencies.
DeleteWhat a blast you had and it shows in your vibrant colors and fun designs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pieces! What a perfect way to spend a nasty weather day! I can't remember that last time I was able to do this but I am working super hard now so I can be semi retired at a young age!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are all in my most favorite colors! So full of good cheer and happy thoughts - eye candy and a spoonful of sugar!
ReplyDeleteYes, lately I am taking lots of day off just to play. I am finally making projects that have been moved from one yearly to do list to the next - some for at least ten years! Huge indulgence but much needed.
I am so glad you are indulging your creative desires these days.
Wonderful, and the last one is a great motto to live by ♥
