Woven Felt Heart Decoration - Heart Template

This heart-shaped decoration is made from two pieces of felt woven together. The weaving is quick to do but the way you decorate the heart is up to you. By decorating, it also holds the weave together.

Step 1. Download the heart template and trace the pattern on to a sheet of tracing paper. Place the pattern on double sided felt or cut two using different coloured felt. Cut along the straight lines as well.

You can see that for this tutorial I've used two different colours to make the weaving process stand out.

Step 2. Begin to weave the red felt into the white felt as follows: Like this below.

Step 3. Place the second red felt piece under the first white felt piece. Like this below.

Step 4. Continue with the last weave which is opposite to the step 3 weave. You should have a woven heart like this below.

Step 5. Make another woven heart and then decorate as you please. Here's my final woven heart completed. It can be as simple or as complicated as you feel at the time.

Hope you enjoy this tutorial and find some time to make one for yourself. Don't forget that instead of fibre fill you might want to add some scented pot pourri. As long as the edges are tightly secured, and the mix not too fine, you will have made a lovely heart to hang in your wardrobe.
